Riblees @ Desa Sri Hartamas

March 24, 2013

2 weeks ago, while waiting for a Kendric’s follow up, I happened to browse through this magazine that featured a dainty place called Riblees which serves ribs and more, so I vowed to give the place a try in the near future. Fast forward to yesterday, we managed to drop by to have dinner.

The place is located on top of Al Rajhi Bank opposite the Shell Station in Desa Sri Hartamas, a very nice place with a choice of air conditioned or al fresco dining.

The menu is pretty simple, with about 70% of it porky related. There’s a number of finger food available ranging from the cute pig’s tail fries to Ham and Cheese Quesadillas, but we opt something special.

Pardon the quality of the photo, the S110 that I’m using albeit a low light camera somehow didn’t managed to capture the dish nicely. Escargot with Herbs & Garlic (RM14.80) is nicely done and spare us the trouble of having to dig out the snails on our own since it’s bake in this special plate with 6 holes that house them nicely, with a generous amount of herb and garlic butter.

Creamy Mushroom Soup (RM8.80), with croutons, hearty and appetizing. Kayden loved it and dunk the toasted bread onto it.

Us while waiting for the ribs to come. The interior is nicely done, although camera and food enthusiasts might find the lighting too dim for food photography.

I ordered the Classic American Babyback (RM39.90), served with fries and coleslaw. I like the tender ribs that’s marinated with BBQ sauce, juicy and perfectly grilled. The half a slab of the rib is just nice, although for big eaters, you can always get the full slab!

May ordered the signature Riblees Babyback Ribs (RM34.80), served with pigtails fries and corn in a cob. This version is pretty basic with very minimal marinate of just pepper and salt, but taste equally good. You can always request for sauce but I enjoyed it on its own.

There’s still a few more items that we would like to try but since there’s just a handful of us, I guess we will have to come again. The family run restaurant is a nice place for get together, but unfortunately for us, we met with a wrong crowd that has this fat guy who kept on talking like he’s the boss the whole time we were there, well I guess it’s just our luck and hopefully the next time, the crowd can be better.
