Han Kok Chon, or literally means Korean Village were just a stone throw’s away from where I live and it’s pretty odd to have a Korean restaurant in such part of town. I mean, majority of the people staying around the vicinity is either Malay or Chinese so my guess is as good as yours why would it exists in the first place.
We were there during our 4th Wedding Anniversary, just a simple dinner between the 2 of us and Kayden. Best part is, I can’t taste much because I was having a bad flu.
Kayden with his smiley face.
Located on the 1st floor of a shop lot, the place consist of a mixture of tatami style dining, and the normal table and chairs.
Since I’m down with a terrible flu, we only ordered a Weekday BBQ Promotion Set priced at RM50, which is enough for 2-3 person. The usual comes with a variety of condiments.
Green lettuce, standard wrappers for the BBQ meat.
The waiters was cool with grilling the meat for us.
Not much to comment apart from that it’s ok by normal standard.
The Topoki (Rice Cake Fried with Chili) is delicious, and spicy and the portion just nice. I’ve always like Topoki ever since I tried it in Taiwan (of all places) so the ones here are pretty good too.
All cleaned up. While the restaurant might not be as fancy as those in Ampang or Solaris area, it does vibrate a decent Korean ambience since the owner himself is a native Korean. Weekday dinner is cheap since it’s only RM50 for a set, so we wouldn’t mind dropping by again if we fancy something Korean. The next time, I probably try their Bibimbap.
