BBQ Pork Rib Rice @ Jalan Bedara, Bukit Bintang

April 19, 2012

It’s been a while since my last lunch with my lunch gang, and a planned trip to eat at Jalan Alor proved unfruitful as the place we were supposed to go were close, so I proposed this Chicken Rice place near Jalan Bedara, behind Istana Hotel in Bukit Bintang.

There’s no name for the stall but I do remember it being feature in one of the local eatery show because of it’s BBQ Pork Ribs.

We were quick lucky to be able to find a parking spot near to the stall, but were greeted with a stall full of diners during the lunch hour.

The lady boss manning the stall, and there’s a variety of roast meat, including duck. We went ahead to order a combination of the BBQ Pork Rib, with Char Siu, Chicken and Roasted Pork. Waited a good 20 minutes before we were served.

Finally it’s our turn. She cutting up the BBQ Pork for us!

Free serving of chilies but it was nothing spectacular.

The first dish to arrive was the BBQ Pork and Pork Ribs. Both the Char Siu and Pork Ribs were really good, with layers of caramelized sauce sticking to the meat.

The plate that we ordered for 4 can easily satisfy 10 hungry lunch gang members. The accompanying sauce is sweet and tasty and good to be spread all over the rice.

The Roast Chicken was ok, and somehow the marinate/sauce taste like herbs normally used for roasting duck. Somewhat different but still good although not as good as the BBQ pork.

Last but not least, Roasted Pork. Layered of crunchy skin and 3 layers of meat, the only thing missing is mustard.

Not photos of any of the lunch gang member (apart from Jiun) since everyone is pretty hungry by the time the dishes were served but it’s a good get together for quick a while. The price for lunch is RM75, that’s RM15/pax, can be consider steep but looking at the things that we ordered, we thought that it’s quite reasonable. If you are nearby, do drop by to taste their pork ribs, it’s pretty special but expect to wait a good 20 minutes before munching one!
