Fatty Restaurant @ Kepong Baru

April 4, 2011

I’ve been eating at this restaurant for a good 9 years and finally decided to write about it.

Located at Jalan Kuang Bulan, near Kepong Baru, this Dai Chow have only a handful of tables and ever since me and May were seeing each other, we had been having our Saturday dinner here. She on the other hand, have been here since her Form 3 days!

Kayden getting busy with my lens cap. After we got married, this is the place that we normally go for dinner as well during our Saturday visit back to Kepong.

To attract crowd on Saturdays, the place will normally offer free soup of the day. The variation includes Old Cucumber Soup, Watercress Soup or ABC Soup.

Depending on our liking, we will normally order a plate of noodles too. The Hokkien Mee is not bad but also depending on the cook. Sometimes it can be very good and some days it could be so-so. There’s also others like Cantonese Fried, Singapore Fried Mihun, etc.

In terms of dishes, we can ordered almost anything that we can think off. Well, at least there’s variation now on what we order. Last time when we were still going out, her parents will normally order the exact same thing. We ordered Bittergourd with Chicken, which is not bad.

Steamed Talapia with Fermented Bean Sauce, with lots of lards. The fishes are normally fresh and good with any type of cooking.

Some greens to go with dinner. A must!

These are just the limited photos that I have at the moment, but they do serve a lot of variety of dishes as well. The one that I like the most right now is Wet Buttered Chicken, which just taste so good that I can even eat it on it’s own.

Price wise, it averages about RM60-80 depending on the number of dishes that we ordered so it’s quite alright. We don’t visit it as often right now because sometimes we will spend dinner time at shopping malls but once a while, it’s good to go back to some place familiar. Don’t you think?

My wife stayed in Kepong Baru so we will always be back during Saturday for dinner. I think this one don’t really have a name on it’s own, just that my wife and parents have been calling it since last time. This stall is very near to the Komuter station.
