To sum up last week, I was down at Singapore for 2 and 1/2 days just to walk around by myself, while May is having her assignment there. So what I basically did is just eat and buy and walk by myself, not really that bad.
We reached around evening and after checking into the hotel, we head to ION Orchard to have dinner and to walk around.
This wasn’t around when we were there last time, nice shopping mall but that’s it.
Had a quick dinner here at The Asian Kitchen, which serves Taiwanese food. Nothing much to shout about as it’s far less superior compare to the ones we had in Taiwan. Mee Suah tasted so so, my Stewed Mince Meat Rice is special with the way it’s presented but is not as tasty as the one at Wonstar Hotel.
Stroll along Orchard Road for the remaining of the night and find out that all the malls have almost the same boutique, Zara, Topshop, G2000 so on. Still ended up leaving at 930PM and have to wait for a good half an hour to get a taxi.
Did manage to get some printed tees from Uniqlo which hopefully is not available here in KL yet.
Since May full meeting whole day on Wednesday and Thursday, I have to explore the whole of Singapore myself, and what way to start it at Funan Digital Mall, that’s got to be my favourite mall in Singapore because it’s packed with gadgets! I was there from 11AM right till 3PM just looking at things that I want to buy (tripod, camera bag, games, etc.)
Had a quick lunch here at Pastamania, thinking that they have special lunch set but ended up paying SGD10.90 for this.
Crunchy Cheesy Chicken Pasta, which taste quite alright but slightly small serving.
So have to order some garlic bread to go with it. Stranded here for quick a while because it’s raining heavily, but did managed to get some stuff that I want.
Met up with an old friend for dinner, quite a while since I last saw her and we had this dinner at Suki-Ya. An Eat All Your Can Sukiyaki Buffet.
3 soup base to choose from, we picked Kimchi and Sukiyaki Soup Base.
Your guide to eating Sukiyaki.
Prepare ze egg, as dipping sauce.
Select the dishes that you like from the buffet spread.
Order the type of meat that you like, in our case Chicken and Pork.
Dumped in the vegetables first so that the soup will taste sweeter and then the rest of the ingredients and start eating by dipping it the egg. Looks like we have eaten it the wrong way all this while.
After dinner, we walked down to Marina Square to that can have a look at the awesome Marina Bay Sands at night and try taking some photos on my newly bought tripod.
Then head home to rest after a tiring day.
Catch of the day, a Velbon Tripod, a Vanguard Bag, 2 Jabra Bluetooth Headsets and 2 Disney T-Shirt for Kayden. A satisfying shopping day indeed.
The next day, left the hotel around 11AM to head to Somerset @ 313 for some last minute shopping at Uniqlo, managed to get some Evangelion 2.0 tees. Head over to Raffles Place to meet up with Phoebe for lunch at Riverside.
A view to die for when having lunch, just by the riverside.
Simple but nice lunch. Food is secondary, catching up is the most important thing.
Me and Phoebe by the Riverside, she’s the one who just got married 2 weeks back at the Bestest Wedding Dinner post.
Had Best Fries Forever for snack while in Raffles City for my Starbucks Tumbler and Royce chocolates.
And then head back to the hotel to wait for May to leave for airport. It’s been a fruitful trip for me, but for May, she hadn’t seen anything in Singapore, maybe a little trip soon with Kayden along.
