Remember my post about Lot 10 Hutong? Residing there is of course some of the famous eateries around KL and one of it is Soong Kee. If you understand Chinese, it’s written there that the stall is actually the 2nd generation, so the original 1st generation of Soong Kee is actually located here.
Located at Jalan Tun H.S. Lee, this place is always pack during lunch crowd. I’ve actually taken this photo earlier because on this day, there’s no single table available so I have to come another day.
On my 2nd try, it’s still pretty pack but I managed to share a table with an uncle. So if any of you reading this wants to head over, do it earlier before lunch or after lunch. I was told that the opening hours was until at night too, so that might be a better time.
The chili sauce is a must to dip into the bouncy beef ball.
I ordered a ‘Big’ bowl of Beef Noodle, which consists of a bowl of mee with loads of minced meat and beef balls.
The bowl of mee at its full glory. The minced beef is very flavourful. Notice that the mee that is being used is wantan mee. There’s a couple of strand of veges as compare to the one at Hutong.
There’s also generous amount of beef balls that’s provided and it taste really good, just like the one at Hutong. Despite being the 1st generation of Soong Kee, I find that the mee is slightly worse off than the one at Hutong but aside from that, everything remains the same. However, price wise, it’s way cheaper than the one at Hutong.
If you want to try out this stall, go to the location below.

Hi Jordan, thanks for sharing this. I used to come here all the time when I lived in KL. Now that I live in Sydney, I never miss this place whenever I visit KL for my holidays and always recommend my friends. This place is truly magical for its beef ball noodles! The pictures give me fond memories and it looks exactly the same from the late 1980s when I first started coming there to eat.
@albertwong
No worries, thanks for dropping by my blog. Actually I haven’t ate there before until this very time. But I do have to say it’s good.
