Travelling to Taiwan

August 5, 2010

Pardon me for the lack of update, but I have been spending the past few days planning the itinerary for my upcoming Taiwan trip. It’s definitely not an easy task with most of the websites for accommodation in Mandarin. So I’m sharing with all of you a rough idea of what we are going to do in Taiwan.

Since my trip is going to be only 7 days, I have taken a few suggestions from fellow friends and bloggers of places to visit.

Day 1

Our arrival time to Taiwan is close to 3PM, and I anticipate that with all the check out and by the time we got to collect our luggage, it will be close to 430 or 5PM. So on the 1st day, we will travel directly down to Taichung using their High Speed Rail. Going to spend a night here to experience the largest night market in Taiwan, which is the Fengjia Night Market.

Day 2

Planning to depart Taichung and head over to Sun Moon Lake (???) to stay a night and experience the tranquillity of the scenic lake that resembles a moon and sun. Will be staying at this Minsu (Taiwanese version of Bed & Breakfast) recommended by May’s friend, Laurel Villa which located just a stone throw away from the lake and cost only NTD2,290 for 2 person with breakfast and dinner plus 2 boat ride tickets around the lake. If you ask me, the price is quite a steal.

Day 3

We will depart Sun Moon Lake and head back to Taichung, before taking the HSR back to Taipei and then straight to Jiufen (??), a Positano look alike town in the North East of Taiwan. For accommodation, we will definitely be staying at Windsor Castle B&B, which I hope if according to the photos provided on their website, a spectacular seaview room overlooking the Pacific Ocean. At NTD3,200, it’s going to be the most expensive nite that we going to be staying during our visit to Taiwan.

Day 4

I’m still finalizing the details for my Day 4 itinerary, but I’m looking at departing Jiufen, make a trip to Yehliu (??) to see this

and this

before stopping the day at Beitou (??) for some hot spring like this

Not sure if it would happen as still finalizing the details for this.

Day 5 to Day 7

On Day 5, will probably leave Beitou District and head back to Taipei City to check into our hotel and of course hunt for the best food around. There’s so much to do like that Taipei 101, Xi Men Ding (???), Shihlin (????), Wufenpu (???) and many more before departing back to KL on the 7th day.

So this is what I have been doing for the past few days at night, so wish me luck in finalizing everything so that normal posting resume. Hehe.
