Daddy’s going to rest this week because his leg was swelling quite bad on Saturday, so I take the courtesy to be in charge of this blog post (although I’m also just recovering from slight fever after my monthly jab!).
Daddy needs to work on Father’s Day weekend so Uncle Jason decided to have an early celebration instead. So daddy managed to book this nice place called Xenri at Menara Hap Seng.
The room that we are seated were very comfy and it’s Tatami style.
Mummy fearing that I will start to cry when they are having the meal, attacked the buffet line straight away. She took some tempura, beef, salmon and butter chicken.
A cup of chawamushi, mummy’s favourite and never fail to order whenever we are at a Japanese restaurant.
Daddy being an avid fan of sashimi, quickly head over to the sashimi spread to get some Salmon and Butterfish. He managed to get a couple of Unagi and California Maki too. Daddy said that the sushi are quite alright but the sashimi slice are slightly thin compare to those he had at Kampachi. Nevertheless, it’s still fresh. They do have Tuna and Octopus as well but daddy can’t eat any of those.
Their oyster is quite big and fresh too, too bad that daddy and mummy can’t eat them.
Aside from the sushi and sashimi, the place also serve Cold Soba and Tako Tao. Daddy said that the soba is quite delicious as it’s very spongy. The Tako Tao is not bad, the only let down is that it’s already cold because left on the buffet spread for quite a while.
Daddy can’t eat any Ebi Tempura, but aside from that, there’s a lot of other choices like crab sticks, pumpkin and brinjal so daddy didn’t missed out eating those. He also managed to get some Unagi and Shiashamo which taste pretty fresh.
Mummy said that the Sukiyaki is pretty good because it’s not too salty and not too sweet. You get to choose what you want so she choose Enoki mushroom with some beef.
Both the potato salad and pumpkin salad looks pretty good. It also taste very good too!
For the sake of taking some good photos, daddy also took 2 cold salad that he can’t eat, so he could only look to enjoy it. The one in front is Soft Shell Crab with some soba while the one at the back is sort of like prawn salad. Very nicely decorated but too bad daddy will always wander how good it taste.
Daddy wanting to take a rest from all the good food decided to take a picture with me!
Mummy and me (and like always, I don’t like to smile when I’m with her.)
Me opening my mouth wide wide with Yeh Yeh and Ma Ma.
After all the resting, it’s time for dessert! Assorted local/imported fruits like Kiwi, Dragon Fruit, Rambutan and Laici. On the left, some different type of jelly that Aunty Jasmin took. Avoid the red one at any cost because it’s too sourish!
The place also serve quite a few other authentic Japanese dessert like mochi (with different flavours) and some cakes.
Green Tea, Yam, Corn and Strawberry Ice Cream!
I had a great time here and I’m sure daddy had a blast as well because you know, Japanese food, that’s like his favourite food, aside from Nasi Lemak and Hokkien Mee. Of course this year, I still need to be carry around but you wait till next year, I’m sure I will also be eating with them.
Daddy said the buffet lunch at Xenri is quite reasonable because it’s only RM68++ with 30% discount. So if any of you celebrating Father’s Day next week, make sure to drop by.
Daddy also said that the 1st 5 comments on this post will get a RM50 Xenri voucher, so what are you waiting for? For me I wish Daddy a Happy Father’s Day!

Yup, it’s really yummy.
I thought only Xenri @ Old Klang Road have buffet? Tried that once, choices not much lor…
@mimid3vils
Yeah, I thought so too. When I called to do booking for the Old Klang Road branch, they told me that it’s full and ask us to book the one at Menara Hap Seng instead. But I think there are more choices here at Hap Seng, beats Rakuzen anytime.
