It’s good to get together once in a while since all of us have got our hectic schedule to keep and last night, we celebrated my birthday at Flams. Went to Club 21 for pre dinner drinks since some of us are off work and the booking at Flams is at 730pm.
Happy hours from 5pm till 8pm and there’s one for one for all loose alcoholic drinks (whatever that means?) so I ordered a glass of Chardonnay while waiting for the rest of the gang.
Ordered their Pandan Skewer Chicken (RM12) while waiting since Lai is super hungry. Grilled nicely with lots of flavour, top with sweet chili sauce.
Their Fried Potato Wedges (RM8) were pretty good too, crunchy all the way and goes very well with the dipping sauce.
Club Twenty One’s menu is simple but there are some items that I would like to give it a try, so maybe will drop by sometime in the future to try their meals!
Flam’s is the place that we were going to have our main meal, remembered the last time I was there was quite a few years back and I can remember how tasty the Crème Brulee was, and since the place has been popping out in quite a lot of food bloggers’ blog recently (and Rama V was close for a private function), I decided to give it a try.
The big hot stove that produce the delicious looking Flams, which is the traditional French pizza which were normally made thin crusted.
We ordered everything at once and requested some to be serve first while waiting for latecomers but the restaurant decided to serve everything at once. The Jumbo Combo Platter (RM46) which were supposed to be an appetizer, came out last after all the pizzas and pastas. The combination is delicious though, with chicken wings, fried calamari, meat balls and mushroom bruschetta. The dips are pretty good too!
We also ordered one Whole Roasted Spring Chicken (RM32.80) which I find was just average, but the spicy dipping sauce is worth mentioning to go with the chicken.
Aglio Olio Pasta (RM18.80), simple and nice.
Salmon Fettucine (RM23.80), flat pasta served with Norwegian salmon tossed with fresh tomatoes and cream sauce. Appetizing and light, so you can munch the whole bowl if you are still filling hungry from the appetizer.
Carbonara with Beef Bacon (RM21.80) is as good as the Salmon Fettucine.
Nasty Double Trouble Burger (RM33.80) consist of 2 beef patties that’s chargrilled, layer with cheese and vegetables is good and tasty. I like the patties, sweet and tender and delicious, the fries though was a bit too hard to my liking.
Our visit to Flams wouldn’t be complete if we don’t order their pizzas, Pepperoni Flams (RM36.80) is really good. Thin crust flat bread, topped with tomato sauce, cheese, basil, spicy sausage, egg and oregano flakes combined well and the way I find the easiest eating it, is to roll it all up and start biting!
Their signature flam, Mushroom Flam’s Deluxe (RM42.80), an old time favourite, seasoned and glazed mixed fresh mushroom, cheese and more cheese, with a splash of secret oil and aromatic herbs. I didn’t taste any because of the mushroom but most of the gang was praising how delicious it was.
Smoked Salmon Flams (RM36.80) is just nice, consist of Norwegian smoke salmon, slice onions and capers. The best Flams is still the Pepperoni flams earlier.
Smoked Salmon Salad (RM28.80) for the greens that we need.
Can’t resist ordering the Crème Brulee (RM12.80), layer of sugar crust on top of creamy custard. The sugar coating was slightly bitter as some part is over burned, but the creamy custard is still delicious.
The rest of the gang and us. It’s a perfect gathering and hopefully we would do one soon during the raya break. For all who came last night, thanks for the lovely dinner!
