I love Low Yat Plaza, because it’s a wonderland for geek like me. The same can’t be said for the food around the area though. There’s a lot of chain food franchise available and most doesn’t come cheap, until I was introduced to this place called Uncle Ben.
Uncle Ben is located at the Lower Ground floor in Low Yat Plaza beside the Old Town outlet. Their main specialty is the variety of ‘small fried’ or siu chau, ranging from Hokkien Mee, Cantonese Fried to special set rice like Kung Pow Chicken and a lot more variety.
So when I was there to get my Razer mouse last month, I decided to have a quick lunch here.
I ordered the Roast Pork Fried Rice (RM6.90) which is full of wok hei. There’s quite a few pieces of roast pork too which makes this meal simply delicious. At RM6.90, there’s no way you can find cheaper alternative in Low Yat or even the BB area.
On another separate visit, I ordered their Butter Chicken Rice Set (RM10+) which comes with refillable herbal tea. Again consider cheap in the area. The butter chicken was fried until golden brown, and then tossed with the butter gravy with chili padi, my favourite!
Golden brown chicken fillet, making me salivating now!
Lunch gang Shireen ordered the Sang Mee (RM6.90) which looks pretty decent too.
Lunch gang Jiun ordered the Wat Dan Hor (RM6.90).
Uncle Ben is definitely the place to eat if you are looking for something to nom when you are getting your gadgety fix and the price and food selection is almost second to none. So have a go, you won’t regret it! They are open lunch and dinner but be before 9pm as they close quite early.

If you are there during lunch time or early evening, then give it a try. Cheap, economical and the Siu Yuk Fried Rice is pretty good!
altho their prices is cheap, but their service of taking order is ” no no ” cause they cant fulfill customer’s request and taking too long time to serve the food.. until the undesired food is served, it already impossible to wait for another food with our limited lunch hour.. well v wont want to visit this restaurant for a long time just for cheaper food but no basic of proper services =)..
@nc
Sorry to hear that you need to wait for their order. I have been there 3 times so far, and although it’s always packed with people, food is served in about 10-15 minutes.
