Eat Food Village @ Publika

May 23, 2012

This post is long overdue, and this was our very first visit to Publika. In the blogosphere, there’s tons of blog featuring various eateries at Publika and more and more nice dining place are popping up at Publika, like the one feature here. Our first and last visit was towards the end of last year and the place that visit is something similar to the Lot 10 Hutong, but feature different eateries available in the Klang Valley.

Running out of ideas on where to eat around Kepong, we head over to Publika for dinner after reading a review from KampungBoyCityGal. Since I’ve been craving for a bowl of Kin Kin Pan Mee, Eat Food Village seem like a nice place to try.

When we were there then, the food court is still partially open and there’s still some stalls that is not vacated yet. Seen here is the famous Lorong Seratus Tahun Curry Mee and Sentul Ah Yip Hokkien Mee.

My first stop is at the Ah Yip Hokkien Mee stall to order a plate of Hokkien Mee and I was given this device.

Apparently it’s a device that will let you know that your food is ready, that is when it starts to blink and vibrate.

I then head over to the Kin Kin Pan Mee to order a bowl of the famous Chili Pan Mee. Tasted the same like the one in Pandan. Chili on the other hand is limited and if you need extra, will need to head back to the stall to ask for more.

Lorong Seratus Tahun’s Curry Mee. To be frank, I’ve never tried the actual one in Penang but it still looks good albeit the serving looks small.

The Hokkien Mee from the Ah Yip stall, full of ‘wok hei’ and taste pretty good as well and is almost the same like the one from Kim Lian Kee.

The only disappointment on the night would be the Bukit Mertajam Yam Rice stall as most of the dishes are cold. I think if I remember correctly, since then the stall has been replaced.

Cantonese Fried from Ah Yip. Easiest one of the best stall to choose to have your dinner/lunch when you’re there.

Kayden…when he has all the attention back then.

As said, I’ve only been to Publika once and it was a nice dinner outing. During that time, shops are still gradually opening hence there’s not much shopping to be done except for BIG Grocery Store but I would certainly pay Publika a visit soon to sample their wide variety of brunch and dinner place.

There are only closing for the day right? Not closing indefinitely right?
