It’s been a while since my last post, mainly due to the fact that I’m busy with work, and there’s limited time available in front of the computer. I’ve also been catching up with some of my other hobbies as well where I will share later. Just had a nice 3 day break last week, and the week before, gone to do a follow up at IJN. At the moment, still thinking if I should go ahead to do the procedure.
Anyways, back in July, I was feeling a little bit depressed because I thought my illness is life threatening, and of course with my very imaginative mind, I kind wander off to a lot of things. However, I did find some time to meet up with May for lunch the day after my follow up in Pantai and she brought me to this place that she had talk about for sometime called, Restoran Jaring.
It’s apparently quite popular with her Malay colleagues and true enough, it’s packed with people during lunch time.
The restaurant serve a huge variety of dishes, like the Ikan Bakar and Ayam Percik.
Assorted curries as well.
And quite a number of vegetables from the normal Kangkung to Pucuk Paku.
One of their famous dish here is their soup called Sup Gearbox.
The Sup Gearbox basically means soup with a huge piece of ox bones and for some, you can even slurp out the innards in the bone. We only ordered the more simple Ox Tail soup, which is quite tasty but pricey.
I ordered something simple, the Ayam Percik with Beansprout. The chicken was a bit chewy mainly because Ayam Kampung is being used, but the gravy sure taste nice.
May ordered the Grilled Stingray with Green Vege and Tofu. Simple since she don’t take spicy food.
The grilled fish is again on the chewy side and only nice if goes with the accompanying chili sauce.
Overall, the place is a bit over rated, and the price is not cheap either. For better Grilled Fish, I will recommend this place is Lorong Ceylon. However, if we never try, we won’t know right?
