Milwaukee Steak Corner @ Balakong

August 24, 2011

On the day that I almost fainted, we were supposed to celebrate me and my brother’s birthday over dinner. With nothing much that we can do after visiting the hospital, we proceed with dinner.

I have visited it’s branch before in Kepong and didn’t realized the HQ is actually in Balakong. There’s 2 floors, al-fresco dining on the lower floor and air conditioned on the top floor.

Despite a Sunday night, the crowd is pretty alright and filled with families having their Sunday get together dinner.

First up is soup and we ordered 3 varieties from Onion Soup, Oxtail Soup and Mushroom Soup.

The Oxtail soup is different from the ones I tasted before maybe due to the star anise that was used. It’s rather soupy compare to those that I tried that normally have a slightly thicker texture.

Escargot, served with garlic and herbs is tasty but pricy compare to the Ship or Victoria Station.

Jasmin ordered their Carbonara Spaghetti, despite the big portion, she finished it all!

I ordered something pretty standard, Chicken Cordon Bleu, where chicken breast meat is wrapped with ham and cheese. I find the outer texture a bit hard, but it’s still a very nice dish.

May and my mom ordered the most basic of dish of all, Grilled Chicken with Mushroom sauce. Grilled perfectly and nice with the accompanying sauce. Aside from mushroom sauce, you can also opt for black pepper sauce.

Another dish which is rather special, pineapple with cheese on top a steak.

And my dad other these Foot Long Sausages after it was recommended by a friend he bumped into earlier in the place.

My brother is a bit adventurous and tried the Ostrich Steak.

Milwaukee Steak Corner is a great family dining venue, it would be more enjoyable if I had not had that fainting episode earlier that day. They served almost everything here from lobster to Wagyu steak so it’s comparable to the big western restaurants too. I won’t mind dropping by again, since I didn’t enjoyed that much the last time around.

If Balakong is a bit far from where you are staying, try dropping by their Kepong branch as well near Metro Prima.

    @choiyen

    I’ve been to the Kepong branch as well, pretty alright, nothing really exceptional compare to the Primes/Jakes and those big boys….
