When May and I started seeing each other when we came back from Newcastle, I would normally spent alternate Saturdays having dinner with her family, and there’s where they brought me to this place in Sentul.
It’s been a long time since we were here and it’s about time to pay them a visit, since dinner time with Kayden is much more enjoyable now. We reached there slightly after 6PM and as we had anticipated, most of the tables are already seated with people and there’s just an odd table that is still free. We ordered some of the must have dishes and dinner is serve in less than 15 minutes. It’s so fast that they haven’t even bring us our pot of tea!
Roasted Pork Knuckle. They don’t only serve this at German restaurant anymore, a lot of Chinese restaurant have this as well and this is one of the signature dish of the restaurant.
The pork is served with sauce that look like curry, but don’t taste like curry. The sourish taste of the sauce provide an different variation for the pork knuckle.
Fried Chicken Wings marinated with Fermented Beancurd, another one of the signature dish of the restaurant. Hot from the frying pan, it’s something different from the original KFC.
When it comes to Stingray, a lot of people will be accustomed to it being grilled the Portuguese way. Here however, Stingrays are being steamed instead, and Spicy Szechuan sauce is pour all over it. First timer might find it strange at this combination but I can assure you that the spiciness of the Szechuan sauce together with the stingray will make you crave for it once you leave the restaurant.
Banana Leaf Butter Prawn and Squid in a hot plate, the dish that will appeared in every single table in the restaurant. That will show you that it’s a dish not to be miss. The buttery sauce, the banana leaf, it’s simply sinful!
Claypot Curry Fish Head, will definitely open your appetite if all the dishes before this fails.
With this visit, we have ordered all their signature dishes and will keep our cravings for Pork Knuckles or Steamed Stingray for a while (I hope). The total bill was close to RM175 for 5 of us, which considerer alright as most of the dishes are for 3 people and May’s family are pretty big eaters.
