Come Valentine’s Day, normally restaurant will charge diners ridiculously high prices for anything you order and the portion will definitely be so small that you will need to go to a friendly Hokkien Mee stall for supper. This is actually the 1st year we celebrate Valentine’s Day with Kayden, as last year Valentine’s was on the 1st day of CNY. No one is cooking at home so I’ve decided to have a simple dinner.
Jordan’s Valentine’s Day Menu
Simple and Easy Caesar Salad
Spaghetti Aglio Olio
Baked Pork Chop
The whole theme is simple, because with Kayden around, we need to be fast. The ingredients for Spaghetti Aglio Olio is easy, Olive Oil, Garlic, Dried Chilies and spaghetti and that’s all you need.
Just have to make sure that the spaghetti is properly cooked.
Also that the dried chilies are soak with water before cooking. And then it’s just a matter of adding the olive oil, garlic, the chilies and the spaghetti together.
The end result is quite alright. I added some crab sticks and parmesan so that it could flavor it nicely.
While all that is happening, the Pork Chops were being baked in the oven. I’ve already marinated it overnight with ketchup, soya sauce, lemon juice, brown sugar, Worchestershire sauce and oil.
Looked pretty good but the meat was a bit too hard. Either I got the recipe wrong or the pork chop are supposed to taste like that. The marinate is nicely done, just that the meat is too hard.
The Caesar Salas was a simple one with just a pack of vegetables that was already prepack, all I do is add in some cheese and crab sticks and voila, Caesar Salad.
That’s how we spent Valentine’s Day, not to mention I have to go to the clinic that night because of a very bad gout attack. Happy Valentine’s Day!

For some reasons, I like the spaghetti most ouf of the menu, looks very tempting.. haha
@sherlin
It’s pretty good, however the chicken stock that is used is also the main reason my gout attack later that night.
