Resuming our Taiwan trip from here, we head over to Raohe Night Market by a taxi, as we are already exhausted with walking.
It’s the 2nd largest night market around Taipei CIty and close to the city, the largest is of course Shih Lin which is a bit further north of the city. In terms of shopping, there’s not much to buy except for clothing and shoes, but our main intention is still to eat.
Things to Eat – Pork Rib Noodle, Black Pepper Biscuit and Fried Dumplings
The 1st shop that we stepped in for our late dinner is this place called Yang Pai Gu Su Mien, which were packed with people, that’s why we just go in as well to try.
One bowl of this is about NTD60 (if I remember correctly). I must say that the ribs are so good. The broth is sweet and tasty too.
May don’t usually like mee, but even she said it’s good.
The worker acting cool, before making a funny pose after I took this shot.
Next on the list, which attracts quite a queue at the other end of Raohe is the Black Pepper Biscuit.
It’s a bit like our Seremban Siew Bao, but the meat is marinated with black pepper alongside lots of spring onion before being put to a hot stove like thos we normally see at mamak used for making naan.
After queuing about 10 minutes, we finally get our hand on 1, very hot just off from the stove!
May enjoying the bao. It’s very good, mainly because it’s spicy. The meat is also very flavourful and I think that it will be awesome if eaten during winter times.
As we were walking back, saw this stall selling dumplings, I couldn’t resist and get some for myself.
Although not as good as the one we had at Danshui, it’s still a great snack.
After all the eating, which is not much anyway, we head back to our hotel near the Wufenpu District.
As by the time we reached our hotel is way past 10PM, most of the shops are starting to close, so we just walked for a little bit before checking back to our hotel.
Our hotel, Wonstar Hotel is pretty decent and quite affordable at about NTD1,800 per night.
The room is not very huge, but just nice to sleep after a long day of walking. FYI as well, tune in to channel 15/16 for some exciting show.
Our 1st night in Taipei was good, but the best is yet to come. Day 6 is when we finally visit the famous Shih Lin Night Market! I haven’t been able to update this as fast as have been busy with work plus another 4-5 days last week when my blog server is down. So will try to continue to finish this before I ran out of steam.
