Last 30th Birthday Celebration @ Oasis Ribs

November 18, 2010

Ribs @ Oasis, I haven’t heard of it before until Sui Lin suggested to give this place a try to celebrate Lin’s big ’30’. The place is very near to the open space car park at 1U and we reached there slightly before 12PM.

Here’s Kayden a day after falling off our bed. Notice that one of his right eye is slightly smaller because it’s a bit swollen. He’s probably asking where’s all the uncles and aunties?

Ordered Mash Potatoes while waiting for the rest, and it’s the only appetizer that Kayden can eat as well. At RM6, there’s 6 full scoops of buttery and smooth mashed potatoes. It’s not bad.

Kayden, after eating mashed potatoes, busy reading his book.

With the restaurant’s name being RIbs @ Oasis, of course their specialty is Ribs, can you hear the ribs are calling?

The Classic Caesar Salad (RM12) is good, with crunchy lettuces and fried bacon combined with a special sauce, toasted bread and poached egg. It’s pretty good to start of a heavy meal!

Honey Mustard Grilled Baby Pork Ribs (RM33.80) ia grilled nicely, served with roasted potatoes. The ribs is tendered and marinated very well, although the taste that I recalled is more like BBQ rather than honey mustard.

The Tuscan Grilled Pork Belly Ribs (RM33.80) looked like it could feed the entire table. I find that the taste is so-so, mainly because the herbs that is being marinated is a bit mild to my liking. However, the meat is still grilled to perfection and being pork belly, it’s tender and nice.

The Grilled Pork Belly Ribs also comes in Oriental flavour, which I thought taste way better compare to the Tuscan one. Taste a bit like Char Siew, but done in a western way. I will strongly recommend to go for the Oriental flavour if you are ordering Pork Belly.

Supreme Pork Burger (RM25) that Sui Lin ordered, comes with egg, bacon, cheese and pork patty. I have tasted a little bit of the patties and think that it’s quite tasty.

I have eaten a lot of burgers before, but I haven’t seen anything like this where the patties is on the reverse, hence the name Ultimate Reverse Burger (RM29.90). Quite special in it’s own way. Would not bother me that much because I prefer to eat my burgers layer by layer though.

I would say it’s a nice place to have lunch, as the crowd is ok with only 3 tables during our whole stay there, I hope that business at night is slightly better because this place is definitely worth a 2nd visit, and I hope by that time, it’s still around.
