Mother’s Day and Lunch @ D’lish, Bangsar Village

May 11, 2010

It’s been a gloomy Mother’s Day yesterday. Started raining close to midday so we have to delay our trip to BV to shop for our steamboat dinner at night.

So while it’s still raining, managed to take some photos of Kayden at home while waiting.

Here’s him saying, “You want a piece of me?”

IMG_3377

Maybe not. I want a piece of myself. My hands taste like chicken drumstick!

All geared up when the rain stops and out we go to Bangsar Village for lunch. Does he look like a mini Mao Tse Tung?

We had a quick lunch at D’lish, since most of the other restaurant at BV is almost full house being Mother’s Day weekend.

Not sure if D’lish and Delicious is the same company, but some of the drinks sure looks the same.

Like my Butterscotch Milkshake. Sure look and taste the same like the one May had at Delicious.

Mom’s Cappuccino and May’s Mocha.

Compare to dinner the previous night, Kayden is more well behaved this time around. Thank god Mom’s with us. Halfway through, Kayden was sleepy and mom managed to cuddle him to sleep.

While Kayden is asleep, we managed to capture the moment since it’s also May’s first Mother’s Day celebration.

Alright, enough about us, next comes the food!

IMG_3412

Jasmin’s Spaghetti née Carbonara which tasted a bit bland (reminds me of the ones we had at Delicious again). But Jasmin did finished the whole plate.

Still feeling a bit full from breakfast, I ordered Grilled Chicken Sandwich which turned out to be quite good.

IMG_3416

A layer of special sauce on toasted bread, coupled with grilled chicken and chicken crisps, with avocado underneath. I wondered how to make sandwich as good as this at home.

May ordered Quiché Lorraine, something that we grew fond off back in our UK days. Theirs is not bad too, with bacon and onions bake together with the egg, something like the western style of our Chinese egg tart. One of these days, I will try to make one too.

For dessert, we ordered Pancakes. I remember reading the menu that it contains Mascarpone cheese as well. No wonder it’s all fluffy and soft, would be better if it’s served with maple syrup rather than honey. Anyhow, it’s still very good.

By the time we finished dessert, the ‘Mini Dude’ as what my sister call Kayden, is awake.

And smiling happily. He’s an angel when he sleeps and eats enough.

That’s how we spent our 1st Mother’s Day with Kayden, how about yours?

Yeah the pancake was nice. Too bad it’s just 2 pieces. We had seafood steamboat as well at night.
