It’s been a year since I posted this Chor 8 is “Bai Tin Kung” Day, time sure flies and yes it’s that time of the year again where us Hokkien celebrating Tee Kong’s birthday, while to the rest, it’s going to be a sleepless night because of the fireworks that majority of people will set off.
Learning from last year experience, we held everything in-house, rather that outside the house because of my Inconsiderate Neighbour.
All geared up for the celebration.
Not really sure why the sugar cane is for, but it’s always a must.
Here are some of the offerings that night.
From Top Right (Red Eggs, Basket of Fruits, Konyaku Fish and Huat Cake)
May and Kayden waiting for the moment.
Kayden also took part in the celebration, before heading to sleep.
“Looks bored here. When’s the fireworks going to start?”
Eventually he went to sleep as he missed this.
Daddy killing the pig.
Happy Tee Kong day! And Dear Tee Kong, remember what we wished for, I promised that next year the pig is going to be fatter ok?

Keep Baby Kayden’s photo as at this year and next year’s ‘Bai Tien Goong’. He might be learning how to walk by then.
what is kayden’s length now.. he looks taller than my girl.
@eva
He’s almost 60cm. Is he taller then?
Jordan dear…. haven’t you heard the story meh? Long time ago Hokkiens were saved when they ran into the sugar cane forest to hide during war (or chase by army or something :p ). Hence the sugar cane to give thanks and gratefulness…….. 😛
@siewmin
Seriously I never knew about the story. Now I know.
my bubba is 15wks. 6days today. weight 5.8kg, length 57.5cm..
based on aus baby growth chart.. your boy is definitely tall for his age. =)
@eva
he likes to stretch a lot, i guess that must contributed to the tallness. wah, my boy is even heavier that your girl.
every baby likes to stretch. it’s your genes that makes him tall la.
@eva
really? didn’t know that. yeah, i guess it’s the genes.
Hahah…it is ok. But good to know we all “kah ki lang” ( relatives~ from same kampung~)
