Despite being a new father, I am still very much into food, photography and of course this blog as well. So now back to food after few postings of Baby Kayden (which is a baby boy just in case any of you reading this is wondering!).
Passing by Taman Yulek for the past few days have brought me to this shop at Taman Yulek, which is supposedly good for it’s Lum Mee and Prawn Mee. So last Saturday, before I went to Pantai Cheras for processing May’s discharge procedures, me and my mum went to have breakfast here.
Located at a ground floor corner unit of these low rise flat, the shop is quite a stand out. Do note that just beside the shop, there’s another hawker stall that sells exactly the same thing, so be warned!
Cosy Corner, famously from Pudu (here mentioned Bun San Bar) since 1969.
We were there about 9-ish, and the crowd is still alright because the opening hours are 830AM onwards.
The Lum Mee that the shop is known best of. Despite the ordinary look, I was quite taken aback on my first bite. I thought there’s not much difference compare to the rest of the Lum Mee that I ate before. But from the 2nd bite onwards, then I know that there’s something different.
The soup is actually quite flavourful and the mee is done to perfection. Because there are some that the mee is tad too soft, then again, it’s just my liking. The mee goes very well with the chillies provided too.
Cosy Corner also serve other Penang specialties like Laksa and Prawn Mee which I think is worth a try (I haven’t try it yet lar). They also serve Yong Tau Fu as well.
Price wise is pretty standard which is about RM4.80 a bowl. Price will increase depending on the things that you add. I can’t wait to go there again to try their Laksa, but then again I’m pretty much tied up now, so I guess it will be a while.

Yeah, you can give it a try.
Looks like “loh Mee” to me. Come to Penang lar. Taste the actual Penang food. But make sure bring enuf money tho. They’re getting more and more unaffordable.
@howjun
Haha, Loh Mee here in KL is a different thing altogether. Wanted to go to Penang too, been quite a while since I visited Penang, I think more than 5 years. Didn’t know that price has increase over at Penang that much?
