I was very privilege to be one of the selected Nuffnanger to be invited to HP’s Future Is Event last night at Rootz Club, Lot 10. This also marked my first time attending a Nuffnang event (although I joined Nuffnang like more than 1 year ago, that shows how unsociable I am back then!).
The HP Future Is Event is organised by HP together with Microsoft to bring some of the famous bloggers onto this forum like event to discuss the future of everything, ranging from technology, design, fashion, environment, etc. The tag line ‘Future Is’ is something that I feel would make a difference to something (more to be discuss later).
The event kicked off with a welcome speech from Danny Lee, the Country GM of HP to briefly explained to us what these ‘HP Future Is’ event is all about.
After giving us a hint of all this event is about, we were introduced to the panel of bloggers that will be participating in this forum.
(From L-R) Kenny (kennysia.com), Jojo (jojostruys.com), Redmummy.com, Cynthia (thatgirlcynthia.com) and Joyce (kinkybluefairy.net)
A series of comments and views were tabled out to the bloggers to get their views on the subject (e.g. What do they thing the Future Is?, What is the best invention aside from the Internet?, What is the one thing that they can’t live without?, etc.)
Kenny being the only guy there, was being bombarded with countless accusation of him relating him to Pamela Anderson videos, and the emcee never really give him a chance. Despite the funny and wacky things he did in the blogging world, in real life he’s quite a decent looking guy (I think lar!)
It’s quite an interesting forum hearing from these influencer on the internet, like getting to know that some of them want a computer that is able to read their mind (although I think that it’s a bit Twilight Zone), or being able to type with a single hand.
Here’s Kenny sharing with us a very serious topic, where to find good Pamela Anderson’s photos. (Oklar, it’s actually something more serious that that)
With close to an hour of discussion, we were then being introduced by both HP and Microsoft to the initiative that will be launch and that is the ‘Blog A Trend’ competition. It’s going to be a competition held across 4 countries (China, Korea, Singapore and Malaysia) where bloggers will blog on trends that will impact our future. More information would be available at HP website.
As I said earlier, the tagline ‘Future Is’ is a very paradigm shifting tagline. Despite the Future Is with the advancement of technology, I personally feel that a look in the environmental aspect is equally important. With the Earth reaching to a point where these issues are seriously affecting the climate, my guess is the Future Is something that we can create to generate more awareness to our ailing Earth. It’s something that we can definitely look into with the technological advancement.
Putting the almanac aside, it’s a great event to start with the free flow of wines and food. More so when I got to get my picture taken with them.
Both Kenny Sia and Jojo Struys. (Sorry the picture a bit blurry lar because of the un-pro user).
Lastly, thank you HP, Microsoft and Nuffnang again for the organizing this paradigm shifting event.
