If you think the title is familiar, think again. Because it’s showing at a cinema you!
The Time Traveler’s Wife is an international bestseller and now a major motion picture starring Eric Bana and Rachael MacAdams. Have finished reading this book in record time (that is like almost 2 weeks!) and I am impressed. Impressed like when I read The Da Vinci Code.
Basically it’s about this man who had a rare chronological genetic illness that could make him travel back and forth in time. Well it’s good to know that you can time travel, but in his case, it’s beyond his control. He won’t be able to choose where and when he wants to travel and most of the time, he ended up having to find clothes for himself (Only your body will time travel, and whatever that is on you gets left behind).
When I first started, it was a bit confusing because of the time line, but as I read more, it’s beginning to make sense. It’s makes me wonder what if I could time travel, but I can’t choose where I want to go and when I want to go, so would it be really a good thing? Of course you can travel forward in time and check what’s the lottery number and buy it today so that you can be a multi-millionaire but what if also you travel back to a time when you so wanted to forget?
Hmm…quite a difficult question if you ask me. It’s a very good book and any of you reading this, go and get it now! Then you will know how a Time Traveler really does for a living. (Yeah, if you disappear beyond your control, that makes it quite dangerous if you are a taxi driver right?)
I am looking forward to watch the movie, which have recently open in cinemas here in KL. Although someone said that it’s boring, it’s mainly because they haven’t read the book. My advice, read the book, then watch the movie. It will relate better.
