Nasi Lemak, Techie

1st Nasi Lemak post

April 11, 2009

I have always wanted to blog about my favourite local food which is Nasi Lemak but I put hold of that idea until today. With the amount of food posting in my blog, I am surprised that not until now that I will post my 1st blog on Nasi Lemak.

Ever since I read from KY about this place in PJ, I have wanted to try it. And since this Saturday we don’t need to go back to my in-laws (they are holidaying in HK), so we decided to head over to this place called 6 to 10 Grill in PJ for lunch.

I think I have been to this place before, I remember vaguely Lin bringing us to this place to have western food. But then again, my memory might proved me wrong.

So once we reached this place, we ordered what KY had recommended which is the Minced Pork Sambal (but I found out that there’s dried shrimp in there as well) so I can’t eat it. So I ordered the conventional Chicken Curry.

Well what I can say is the Nasi Lemak is not the best that I eaten, but I do like the authentic Chinese taste in it. The Minced Pork is very special and it’s the first time I tried something like that (coz Chinese Nasi Lemak normally will have wild boar meat instead). The rendang and curry chicken is so-so however the sambal onion is quite tasty. May is disappointed that it’s not as yummy as she expected it to be. I guess I gave her too high hope for this.

And of course the price is not cheap. RM7 for a plate of nasi lemak with 1 dish while RM10.50 for 2 dishes, I am sure I can eat someplace better and cheaper. I guess the price is mainly tied up with the history of this restaurant. I saw a framed article dated 1989, so I guess that’s contributing to the price we pay too.

Anyway, not bad for my 1st nasi lemak posting. I am sure that there will be more to come.

We head over to Taman Megah to get my camera bag from Lau, who then passed us his wedding invite. This is the Lowepro bag I got his friend to get me from Singapore. RM95 after conversion, and there are some shops selling here about RM200.IMG_1114Went to Tropicana City Mall to do some shopping for steamboat tonight at home. May got herself some hairclips and she’s very happy about it. While me I wanted to check out some games at Gamers Hideout but the shop is close.

There’s a massive thunderstorm on our way back and most of the roads heading back to Cheras are flooded.

I like rainy days but not like this where you have a torrential rainstorm coz I can’t do anything at home (afraid that all my stuffs will be struck by lightning!). Will share more pictures later coz as said steamboat at home tonight!
