Afternoon at Raju’s

January 20, 2007

It’s been a long time since I had Indian rice served on a banana leafs, and I still remember this restaurant coz I had my first banana leaf rice here. The shop is located in Jalan Chantek off Jalan Gasing. Since it’s a corner lot, most of the tables are at an open area as well, cooling as well as it’s surrounded by large trees….
When eating banana leaf rice, it’s advisable to use your hand, that way can get the “feel” of having banana leaf rice. But for those who are not so use to eating with their hands, eating utensils are provided. The basic, will consist of rice, 3 types of veggies and papadam. You can also add in some fish/chicken curry on your rice.
And not only that, there’s other side dishes as well such as these 2 that we had (rendang chicken and mutton). We also had a piece of fried chicken and ikan tenggiri as well.

The price of the food is average, RM40 for 2 person but it was worth the experience. So if you are thinking of having banana leaf rice, you can drop by this place in PJ.

Now…why does my right hand still smell of curry!
